Sharon has been a certified personal trainer since 2008, Mad Dogg Spin instructor since 2012, & TRX certified since 2013. Sharon is our interval girl; she teaches HIIT, SPIN, and various other classes. Her workouts are a balance of cardio, weight lifting, and body weight exercises. Sharon pushes her clients to work hard & have fun at the same time. She enjoys helping clients reach their fitness goals, no matter what their fitness level may be.
Sheri McKay is an NSCA certified personal trainer with over 10 years experience in the fitness world including nutrition counseling, kickboxing, and boot camp style classes with certifications in Kettle Bell Concepts Kettle Bell, TRX, and Mad Dogg Spinning. She has always been passionate about physical activity and sharing her enthusiasm and energy with those who take her classes or train individually with her so they can progress towards their fitness goals. In addition, she attended and graduated the National Personal Training Institute earning a degree in personal training and nutrition and also a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Criminology from Rutgers College, Rutgers University.
Patrick has been a certified Personal Trainer since 2015. He trains individuals of all ages and is a group fitness instructor, teaching High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) & Shred. Patrick has also been a coach within the Emerson Boys & Girls Club since he was a senior in High School. He is a Volunteer Fireman. He always strives to push members to their limits to achieve their fitness goals inside & outside of the gym.
WHF’s Group Fitness Manager, Saffit, is a Personal Fitness Trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and holds certifications in TRX Suspension Training, Spinning, and Punk Rope (a creative, jump rope-based conditioning format). Saffit has been an indoor cycling enthusiast for 20 years and enjoys strength training, boxing, and is currently training for a Punk Rope 5K (skipping rope the length of the race!)
Since it has helped her manage her arthritis so well, Saffit specializes in functional training, training which involves strengthening the body for the activities performed in daily life such as walking, running, jumping, bending, climbing, and lunging.
As a mom of two boys with a non-fitness full time job, Saffit understands the importance of lifestyle balance and maximizing time at the gym. Whether it is cardio, flexibility, or strength training, you will be challenged to meet current and motivated to set new fitness goals!
Jill Thistle is a group exercise instructor certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) with a passion for teaching fitness. While Jill is an avid weight lifter and particularly enjoys high intensity interval training, she loves to teach students of all levels in many different types of classes. Jill has published Mommy Muscles, a motivational book for women on how to be fit, eat healthy, and stay positive.
Elizabeth has been a personal trainer since 2007. She teaches Tabata, Kickboxing, Spin, and Strength Classes. She enjoys training for 5K races and has been the Physical Education Teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Hillsdale since 2002.
Toby has one fitness philosophy – GET MOVING! Her fun and no nonsense approach to working out will keep you motivated in order to achieve your personal best. She is a WITS Certified Personal Trainer and holds several group fitness certifications including, ACE, Mad Dogg and TRX. She brings her passion for an active, healthy lifestyle to each and every class and would love for you to join in on the fun!
Evette Halligan is a certified personal trainer/ group fitness instructor. Evette has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and a post- graduate degree in exercise physiology from Montclair state university. For over 25 years, Evette has worked as a fitness instructor/ trainer to help others enhance their overall health and fitness levels well as helping them to reach their fitness potential.
Ellen Davies has been AFAA certified and teaching at Westwood Health and Fitness since 1994. She has taught a wide variety of classes over the years, including Step, Aerobics, Spin, Senior Aerobics, Water Aerobics and Toning Classes. In 2009, she became a certified Personal Trainer through AFFA. Last year, she became certified in TRX and Core Bar. In 2004, Ellen began to study traditional Okinawan Karate and earned her first degree black belt in 2009 and her second degree black belt in 2012. Ellen taught children karate at the local Y, where she was the Group Fitness Coodinator. When she is not teaching classes or training clients, Ellen enjoys swimming and running and has participated in several half marathons.
